Back in Soldotna and the Sockeyes are still swimming up the river. However, the wildlife agency opened up netting for the trawlers seven days a week rather than two days a week as they were doing. Prior to opening the netting for seven days a week the fish counts were well over a hundred thousand fish a day swimming up the river. Now the counts are between fifteen and twenty thousand. We still caught some nice fish. After finding something to eat at our favorite restaurant in Soldotna, Sal's Klondike Restaurant, it's back to our campsite in Fred Meyers parking lot. Before we realized it was nearly midnight and a full moon. We just had to have our picture made with the full moon. How often do you see a full moon around midnight and it's still daylight? The land of the midnight sun, I mean moon... Just in case you are ever in Soldotna, Sal's Klondike Restaurant has one pound cinnamon buns and the Moose is Loose Bakery has some excellent "health" food like over sized chocolate covered doughnuts and road kill cinnamon buns...
Linda shows a "Road Kill Cinnamon Bun". Surely she won't eat that thing?
John is holding one of Linda's? doughnuts...
Everywhere we go there are beautiful flowers...
More flowers
Once you have eaten all the cinnamon buns you can and taken pictures of all the flowers what do you do? Well you can take a nap, site see and there is plenty to see, shop, or you can...
