Alaska Day 27 - 32 Week 2 at Camp Baldwin

It's Monday and week two begins. Third and fourth graders will be attending camp this week. Lynne left on Saturday to go to Maryland to help take care of her grandchildren for two weeks.  With Lynne gone, Linda became the Camp Mom and had to take care of the bumps and bruises, and there were plenty, along with controlling and giving the campers their medications.  In her spare time she cooked, made cakes, worked with the Mission Force decorating and planning birthday activities for campers with a birthday during camp week. While Lynne was gone Neal, a friend of Dale and Lynne's came from their home town of Manteo, NC to help at camp for the two weeks Lynne was away.  We thank the Lord for Neal and his willingness to come and help. He sure added a lot to the camp. Our most unusual guest this week was Mr. Moose. A young moose hung around camp for much of the week seemingly wanting to join in on the activities especially meal times.  It was a challenge convincing him that he was not welcome with all the young children.

Day one let the fun begin...

Maya's 10th birthday

Passing out birthday cakes.  The cup cakes were a big hit with the campers...

This was a fun game to watch.  It's called shark attack.  The campers sit around and hold a large parachute with the Camp Missionaries under the parachute.  As the Camp Missionaries move around under the parachute they grab the feet of the campers and try and pull them under the parachute.

Another neat game, barrel racing...
Mr Moose shows up at the dinning hall.  Do you think he would like moose meatloaf?

Mr Moose on main street.

Now he is really getting brave... He's starting to bring others with him.

Sometimes you just have to look him eye to eye and explain that he is not welcome...

Meal time was always a welcome time...  These campers are on the go all the time...

Linda worked with the Mission Force girls making cakes and decorations for the 4th of July.

Dale, Linda and the Mission Force girls discuss plans for the 4th of July.

Let the decorating begin.

In line for desert...

Getting ready to serve...

He's back...

How can you say I'm not welcome?

Friday means camp is coming to an end and hamburgers for the last meal.  Linda and Dale are preparing the hamburgers.

Prior to lunch, the winning cabin for the week picks there favorite counselor to go in the cage.  Let the water balloons fly!  Mark the camp director oversees the fun...

  Week 2 Mission Force team...

Mark emphasizing what we learned during the week.
